|challenge||Our client, a well known international food manufacturer, engaged us to design and install a new low humidity production suite for the packing of chocolate powder in West Africa. Our challenge was to design a system that could cope with the high ambient temperature and humidity conditions experienced in Nigeria as the product were of a hydroscopic nature. All materials were procured from the UK before being shipped and installed on site.|
|solution|| In order to ensure the design conditions were maintained de-humidification and air handling units were employed to deliver conditioned air into the 2000m² packing facility by textile distribution systems. In addition, the space was pressurised to cascade air to lower priority areas and prevent infiltration.
The electrical, cooling, heating, water services and BMS system was designed and installed by Environmental Engineering.
On completion of commissioning, comprehensive training was given to the clients engineering team to ensure reliability and longevity of this state of the art production facility
