|Case Study||Healthcare Company|
|challenge||New clean room facility|
|solution||Design and build|
|challenge||To deliver a new validated clean room facility and integrate the building services systems worth £1.5 million, whilst the adjacent hazardous area pharmaceutical plant remained in operation.|
|solution||We recognised that intensive supervision of our tradesmen and their method of working in parallel
with others, was the only way to ensure that the systems would be handed over safely, on time
and within our target costs.
A site based project manager and engineer co-ordinated the works with the client and produced weekly progress reports, man-hour records and labour forecasts. We held daily co-ordination meetings to review our forthcoming activities so we could eliminate non-productive working and to overcome obstacles.
We appointed an independent safety consultant to review our method of working and what impact other trades may have on our work.
|benefit||All systems were handed-over on time, within budget and with a 100% safety record.
We wrote and executed the validation documents for all systems. The comprehensive validation package was delivered on time and the facility is now operational.
Subsequently, we have negotiated on an Open Book basis repeat business worth in excess of £1 million. This work includes the design and installation of over twenty clean rooms each contained within four floors of the new process building.
