challenge Our client, a well know international drinks business, had a requirement to increase

production volumes from their existing brewery in Nigeria.

Our challenge was to upgrade the mechanical utilities to handle the additional capacity
and improve efficiency.

solution  

We established the capability of the existing refrigeration, steam & condensate, process
water and compressed air systems through site surveys and full gap analysis and were able
to produce designs to complement the existing services on site.

In order to ensure the quality standards and fast track project time frames were met, our
UK installation team worked closely with local partners to successfully deliver the project
on time and on budget.

The extent of work and efficiency improvements included:

  • A new 2km compressed air ring main was installed around the site
  • Main compressor plant re-configured via an intelligent controller to reduce running costs
  • Steam & condensate services installed to serve new and existing production lines
  • Provision of condensate recovery sets to increase boiler efficiency and reduce water consumption
  • VSD controlled process water pumps
  • New carbon filtration plant to facilitate the increase in production volumes
  • The project was designed and delivered by our UK engineering team.
benefit  Increased production outputs were achieved together with a reduction in revenue of the operational costs of the plant.
